International Airport. This breaks the old record of 102 set
in 1901 and 1947.
An all time record high minimum temperature of 84 degrees was tied
at Memphis International Airport on August 3. This ties the old
all time record of 84 degrees set in 1980 and 1934. This also sets a
new record monthly high minimum temperature for August which was 82
degrees and was last set in 1982.
It should be noted that on only four other days in recorded history
has the minimum temperature only dropped to 84 degrees at Memphis
International Airport.
A record high minimum temperature of 77 degrees was set at Jackson
Mckellar-Sipes regional Airport on August 3. This breaks the
old daily record of 76 degrees set in 1952.
The high temperature in Parsons was 100.7 degrees.
The low temperature in Parsons was 73.5 degrees.

Parsons received 9.24 inches of rain the weekend of May 1st. Other areas in Tennessee, mainly Jackson, Waverly, Centerville and Nashville received up to 15 inches of rainfall. The large amount of rainfall created record flooding throughout Tennessee.

National Weather Service damage survey team concludes an EF-1 tornado
touched down on Bible Hill Road 2 miles north northwest of Parsons
Tennessee at 426 PM…traveled east northeast and continued across
the Tennessee River. Maximum winds were estimated at 105 mph.
Preliminary track length was 7.6 miles with a maximum track width of
400 yards.
Significant tree damage occurred…especially on Brodies Landing Rd.
Although light damage was noted to most structures hit directly from
the tornado…significant property damage resulted from falling
trees. One barn was completely destroyed however.

Power lines and trees down on Bible Hill Road and Everett James Lane.
